Andy Hill, Head of Software Asset Management for Essentia, will be speaking at the ICT Procurement and Software Licensing Briefing in Cambridge next week. Essentia recently launched The Essentia SAM Network which brings together organisations in the NHS and public sector to share knowledge and best practice in Software Asset Management.
Since the Department of Health stopped providing ‘umbrella agreements’, acquiring and managing software licences has fallen to individual organisations, leading to confusion, uncertainty and increased cost. Andy will be talking about some of his SAM experiences, the challenges that organisations will face, and the cost savings that can be made if you get SAM right.
The Crown Commercial Service and the East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub are hosting this free briefing event to provide an overview of the new NHS service charter, how they can support software licensing policy, asset management, aggregation and other topics of interest to public sector IT managers.
The ICT Procurement and Software Licensing Briefing will take place on 21 January 2015 in Cambridge and while the event is now fully booked, requests to be added to the waiting list can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘ICT Waiting List’ in the header.
