Last night the HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards announced Essentia as the winner in the Energy Efficiency category.
On Tuesday 23 September the HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards announced Essentia as the winner in the Energy Efficiency category. The award recognises our work with ‘Energy Performance Contracts – investing in the NHS estate’.
Essentia, chosen from a record number of entries, were judged by a panel made up of senior and influential figures from the health sector. Competition within the Energy Efficiency category was tough, with other shortlisted organisations including:
- Central Manchester University Hospitals Foundation Trust
- Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust
- NHS Grampian
- The Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust
The HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards seeks to recognise and reward outstanding efficiency and improvement by the NHS. They also look for examples of demonstrable improvement in outcomes, both within back office functions and clinical initiatives.
The shortlisted entrants here tonight have demonstrated enormous and courage by successfully pursing their goals in such a testing environment. You have demonstrated how it is possible to drive both quality and efficiency to deliver greater value. The NHS has experienced probably its most difficult period in two decades and the strains are beginning to tell. The fact that it is still standing is – in large part – down to the efforts of those we celebrate tonight
